I'm a patient and kind caregiver/companion who recently moved to the area! I am currently a certified EMT, which means I am BLS/CPR certified on a healthcare provider level. I also have over a year of PCA work experience, working in the home of clients with significant medical and mental health challenges (including psychosis). Additionally, my most recent job (before relocating to NC) was as a Mental Health Worker and as part of a specialized Early Crisis Intervention team in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. In addition to leading groups and helping with all aspects of daily care with the patients, my role here was focused on verbal de-escalation of potentially violent patients to avoid physical contact with these particularly vulnerable patients. I gained experience here with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. I dealt with a variety of diagnosis including schizophrenia, depression, addiction, traumatic brain injuries, psychosis, dementia, etc. With my EMT background and the hospital, I am also comfortable with caring for a variety of medical conditions like seizure care, diabetic emergencies, etc. I am creative, quick, kind and understanding when it comes to getting the needs of my clients met appropriately.
