I worked with several individuals who made an incredible impact on me. I planned developmentally appropriate adventures and activities, attended events, assisted with personal care and goal-planning, and aided in their volunteer and work positions.

I received an award and certificate for outstanding service - partly due to my work at the annual picnic. I brought supplies to allow for each individual to enjoy a variety of activities. There were several picnic tables in the pavilion. I set up a bead station, a modeling clay station, a table with Jenga and Legos, a table with shoelace sewing, and a movement zone with hula hoops and a sack race area. We had so much fun, and everyone was able to find something they could enjoy. I will never forget that day!

I had to leave this position due to a transfer to Martinsburg, WV. I still keep in touch with some of the families who gave me some of the most rewarding work experiences of my life.
