I started working with special needs when I was 13 and living in Oregon-although being young myself, I could relate well with the youth and I have the ability to connect with others. I cared for two brothers that had behavioral issues and continued to care for them off and on for the next 8 years. I then cared for a young lady who was developmentally disabled. I did respite care for her and her family for about six years, during that time I also cared for a young man who had autism. I stopped all when I moved to North Carolina but continue to keep my old number so my previous client can continue to keep in contact with me with out paying long distance.
