Hello, My name is Lawanda Strickland. As far as I can remember I had a love for children. Watching my mother care for children of her own and through the foster care service, I was made aware of the different lifestyles and circumstances of children in need. Even though food and shelter were a role of their well-being, patience, understanding, and love also played a key role to a child developmental state.
Growing up as a military brat I had the blessings of living stateside and overseas. In doing so, I met and fell in love with my husband Jim, now a retired veteran, we reside quietly with our 17 year old twins in Charlotte North Carolina.
I have over 15 years of experience in the MWR Navy Child Development Home Provider Certification of Achievement which I obtain on October 21, 2002.
The Certifications are in the areas of Safety, Healthy, Environment, Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, Self, Child Abuse, Guidance, Families, Program Management, and Professionalism.
I have my Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, Certified Background Check, and ServSafe Certification.
Caring for older adults and little one's are a blessing and I look forward to creating a positive environment for them to grow.
