Hey, My name is Sylvia Ashford. I am a 22 year old home health care worker. I have 2 years of paid experience in the health care world. I love being a caregiver it has been my dream since I was a little girl to help the elderly and I wish to continue my dream of being a caregiver starting with you. (Encouraging the person to do as much as they can on their own, rather than doing everything for them)
-Ensuring safety and health
(Watching for changes in health, preventing accidents, & when needed coordinating with doctors and nurses)
-Advocating for the person
(speaking up for their needs, preferences, and rights- especially when they cant fully do it themselves)
With that being said the core of caregiving is about helping one live with dignity, comfort, and as much quality of life as possible.
