I became a caregiver the day I moved back home to take care of my loving parents. My Mom dying of cancer and my father diagnosed with a rare form of parkinsons.I was determined neither would go to a nursing facility if I could prevent it.I worked w the drs. learning to take vitals & give meds,what foods to cook,exercise,cleaning house,yardwork &laundry,assist with bathing &dressing and sometimes feeding.Walks, 1 w walker & 1w wheelchair,dr.apts.& erramds.I was blessed to help their last 5 yrs here as pleasant &painfree as possible. Since have gotton my PCA,firstaide &CPR certificate &did private sitting for 2 other people seeking assistance w a family member.I also worked @ Hampton Manor Assissted Living a while w demensia & alzheimers residents.I love helping people,making them smile,laugh & making the best of each day we have here on earth.
