I have a Bachelor's degree in social work and did nursing home social work for 4 years. I enjoy working with seniors. Since June of 2013, I worked providing care for a mother, age 89 with dementia, and her daughter, age 66 with pancreatic cancer. For the mother, I assisted with mobility and toileting, feeding and dressing, gave medications, and helped her into bed. I also had to monitor thru the night to make sure she didn't get out of bed unassisted. When she had to go to a nursing home because of her daughter's worsening health, I became a companion for her daughter. Because of her cancer meds, she couldn't drive so I drove her anywhere she needed to go. I prepared her food if she wanted me to our just kept her company. This dear lady lost her battle with cancer a month ago so now I am looking for someone else to help.
