Althea’s Bio
I'm an experienced, private in-home, CNA trained, CPR certified caregiver, who is also a NC licensed Med Tech. I've worked with patients in and around the Guilford & Forsyth County area, and I've formed excellent client/family references, which are easily available upon your request.
I'm also a Habilitation Technician trained to work with mentally challenged adults and children.
Over the past 15 plus years, I have offered my clients companionship through conversation, walks around the neighborhood, watching television, accompanying them on appointments or simply by just sharing a meal.
I've gained the trust of my clients by offering to help them with their daily routine activities, by assisting with feeding, bathing, dressing and grooming. I've scheduled medication reminders, administered medication, performed light housekeeping, monitored their diets, provided assistance with getting in/out of bed, either manually or with the use of a Hoyer lift.
I'm also experienced with dealing with seniors suffering with Alzheimer's and Dementia, Mental Illness, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), Bipolar Disorder, seniors recovering from a stroke/heart attack, suffering from seizures, and currently experiencing signs of Sundown Syndrome.
