I grew up as the younger sister of a severely disabled brother(cerebral palsey) and have as a result acquired certain skills and knowledge in regards to care giving. When I was old enough I began working as one of his caregivers through Community Partners. I was considered more valuable as his care provider than most nurses because the severity of his condition was so unusual that most outside help was unprepared to deal with the complexities of his needs.

At the same time I have helped a great deal with the family pets and livestock. I have helped care for two dogs, two cats, and a sizable flock of chickens and one duck. I became very proficient in caring for the needs of poultry and have successfully cured a couple of respiratory infections and severe injuries. My family sometimes refers to me as the "chicken whisperer".
