Throughout the years I found myself working in the medical field but it all started when I first babysat a child in her home while her parents were away on a date night or movie night. It was a pretty great and fun experience. This piqued my interest in working with the elderly and others who also needed care.
I became a certified nurse assistant (CNA) in North Carolina for 3 years. During those years I met an elderly woman with the same birthday as I (that was not planned) and she was sweet as can be. Moved to New Hampshire and became a direct support professional at a nonprofit organization, Nashua Center, for 3 years. There, I connected with a 20 year old woman with special needs who struggled socially and was able to overcome and meet lots of amazing goals. Then I became a patient service representative in a pediatric and family medicine doctor's office for 5 years. This has allowed me to create relationships with different individuals and families.
I can't forget about my grandmother. She has been my number one reason for my passion about this. She always teaches my cousins and I to give unto others the best of us no matter what.
Caring for others is not only rewarding, it has brought joy to my life.
