Hello! My name is Karen ~

I have spent the majority of my adult life being a companion and caregiver to others, as well as loved ones of friends and family.

I have been a caregiver in various degrees of assistance; companionship, activities, meal preparation, errands, dispensing medication, errands/shopping, etc. I was recently a caregiver/companion to an elderly woman, who had dementia, and required assistance in her home. I arrived in the morning, assisted her with washing/dressing, made her breakfast, dispensed her medications, cleaned up, etc. It was a pleasure to spend time in conversation with her, be her companion and do activities that were appropriate for her activity level. It gave the family "peace of mind" in knowing that she was being taken care of and safe while I was there.

My qualifications, experience and background are as follows:

* College graduate
* 10+ years of experience in care giving & companionship
* Reliable, Dependable, Patient and Compassionate
* 6+ years experience with Dementia & Alzheimer's patients
* Non-smoker
* Accustomed to pets
* Excellent driving/motor vehicle history (MVC background check
completed) with vehicle/companions insured, current inspection
and 4-wheel drive. (report available upon request)
* Background Check completed (report available upon request)
* Very comfortable in medical situations/emergencies
* Very familiar with most areas/towns, as I was born and raised in
northern Sussex County.

I decided to continue being a caregiver/companion because I wanted to give families, that are in a similar situation as to what I experienced years ago, the assistance they may need for their Loved One and the possibility to be able to remain in their home, for as long as possible, under safe and caring conditions. I feel "quality of life" for the elderly is most important and families often need assistance to maintain this, giving everyone's busy lifestyles.
