Hello and thanks for checking out my profile! My name is Kathryn, I am a 24-year-old social worker and amateur ceramicist.

I do not have direct care companion experience, but I do think that my professional background and my practical experience would lend well to a care companion role. I'm interested in working with someone who needs occasional support (1-3 times per week, evenings and weekends) because I do have a daytime job that could interfere with standing appointments.

My undergraduate degree is in Child and Family Studies, with an emphasis on Child Development. I am also an LMSW (Licensed Master of Social Work degree). In graduate school, I worked in outreach with older adults who were impacted by Hurricane Sandy and were in need of resources. I conducted long in-home interviews with each client. Following that role, I worked as a research assistant with Silberman Aging: A Hartford Center of Excellence in Diverse Aging, a group that worked on research and outreach for older adults in East Harlem (I created a resource guide for older adults experiencing Alzheimer's, among other projects).

I believe that my childcare experience could be relevant here - please check out my babysitting profile to see my experience (it includes children with special needs and mother's-helper roles)! I speak Spanish conversationally. I love to cook, read, and spend time outdoors. I would love to help!
