I started my caregiver journey with my elderly grandfather when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I would spend hours with him daily for years making sure he ate, chores were done, hygiene, accidents, and also tended to his garden together. My family always said spending so much time together likely prolonged his life, and I definitely believe so! I hope to extend this same assistance to other elderly people, because it's critical for them to have a consistent presence and reliable companion.
