Joshua’s Bio
I love being a caregiver because it allows me to build meaningful relationships while making a genuine difference in someone’s daily life. Whether it’s helping a person maintain their independence, offering companionship, or simply being a supportive presence, I find fulfillment in being there for others. I bring patience, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility to every caregiving role. I approach my work with a deep respect for the dignity and individuality of each person I support.
My background in education and coaching has given me extensive experience in providing both emotional and practical care to people of all ages. I’ve worked closely with children, families, and multilingual learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, helping to meet their emotional, academic, and personal development needs. These experiences have equipped me with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to respond calmly, thoughtfully, and respectfully in a wide range of situations. I’ve developed the capacity to adapt communication styles, create structured routines, and provide consistent support—skills that transfer naturally to adult caregiving.
As a former substitute and student teacher, I’ve worked with individuals who required differentiated support due to language barriers, learning needs, or trauma backgrounds. These roles required a high degree of sensitivity, active listening, and the ability to build trust quickly—all essential qualities for caregiving. My time as a coach also taught me the importance of motivation, encouragement, and consistency, especially when supporting someone through physical or emotional challenges.
I am certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Medication Administration Training (MAT). These certifications, along with my hands-on experience in education and care settings, have prepared me to handle emergencies, administer medications when needed, and ensure a safe, secure environment. I am organized, dependable, and take pride in being someone others can count on.
As a caregiver, my goal is to support individuals holistically—emotionally, mentally, and physically—while creating a sense of comfort and companionship. I believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported in their daily lives, and I am honored to be a part of that process for those I care for.
