As a teen, I volunteered at several nursing homes after discovering my passion for caring for the aging population. I later worked as a recreational leader at Park Terrace Care Center for more than 5 years, working with residents whose diagnoses ranging from Alzheimer's to Traumatic Brain Injury. I provided in-home care to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities at a non-profit organization for 9 years as a direct service professional as well as a residential manager. I moved on to provide case management to adult populations and now work as a psychotherapist. I still have a passion for the aging population as well as individuals with disabilities. I understand the importance of providing individuals with, not only a safe and clean environment, but also an ability to enjoy the present moment. I have a wealth of experience in creating individualized plans after learning about a person's interests and passions. An aging person shouldn't have to stop living before they stop living! I am not available for a full-time position, but can offer temporary respite care or up to 4 hour shifts on weekends.
