I love making people happy. I started because a friend of the family needed help with there elderly parents who both had althizmers. Taking care of people and helping them feel safe and loved are important to me and seeing them laugh or smile brings joy to me.
I have done it all from helping them dress to cleaning them up. Having incontinence issues should not be shameful, it happens to us all at one point or another. I have cooked meals and eaten with them that I find important. Sharing a meal instead of them eating alone I have noticed relaxes everyone. Medications that I have gotten ready and made sure we're taken. Appointments that I drove them too. Times of confusion and fear that I have helped settle. Participation in card games, television shows, dancing...anything that brings them enjoyment in life. Life is precious and should be enjoyed. That brings me joy.
