Samantha’s Bio
My name is Samantha Marin and I graduated from Union College in upstate NY in June with a degree in Psychology. I am now pursuing a doctorate in clinical child psychology and hope to eventually become a licensed child and family psychologist. Through my studies which have required hands-on internships, I have gained immense knowledge in the realm of working with children with special needs, specifically those with ADHD/ADD and ASD. The most notable experience I have had working with children with special needs was assisting with and shadowing pediatric neuropsychological assessments. Through this experience, I became very comfortable interacting with the children and gained a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
One of the main motivators for my studying psychology and wanting to work with children was my involvement in the special needs program in my school district throughout my elementary, middle school, and high school years. I always felt a special connection and affinity towards my peers with special needs and assisted with the program when I was growing up. I hope to get a position working as a care companion for a family with a special needs child due to this connection I have always felt and because I feel that my studies and career goals have also given me the tools to know how to care for a child with special needs and provide them with a positive, fun, and safe experience.

Reviews
We love Sam! She was the first person to look after our youngest starting at 3 months old and showed her so much love and attention as she grew from bottles to baby food. In addition to staying with our newborn, she also took care of our older daughter who was 2 years old at the time. Sam was always great at communicating with me about how the girls were doing or any supplies she/they needed, and worked with me to make a schedule that worked for both of us. You and your kiddos would be LUCKY to have Sam as part of your family!!
