I have been a care companion off and on for the past ten years. I first started as a care companion for my neighbor who lost her husband and needed some companionship. She was lonely and just needed some company which I really enjoyed. I would also do laundry for her and go shopping for her but mostly just sit and talk with her because she missed her husband. I did this for approximately six years until she got sick and passed away. I then started working as a companion for an elderly lady who lived alone and didnt have any relatives in the area. She loved the company and I loved to be there for her until her son brought her back to Connecticut with him because she started showing signs of dementia.
