Hi There! I’m Alison (Ali for short).
I have a very long and extensive history helping those with chronic illnesses and am extremely patient.
The extensive history also includes myself— I was diagnosed at 21yrs old with the rarest, most aggressive cervical cancer on earth. I had a stage 4 recurrence only a few months after I completed my first treatment plan. I can happily say that I am a 2x cancer survivor and am going on 7 years cancer free (Valentines Day makes 7 years)! However, after I had gone into remission for the second time, I started to have an unbelievable amount of radiation damage that stole about 6 additional years from my life. I am now incredibly healthy and am so lucky to be able to say that today, therefore, I live my life accordingly; life is far too short to not make your mark and do the things that you love.
I feel that part of the reason I have survived is to help others with chronic illnesses no matter what the situation. I love to tell stories, to make sure they’re taking their meds, create the most comfortable bc loving environment possible for them. Do all of the things that brings that person joy. I believe there is nobody better suited to be a companion for someone who is struggling with physical or mental illness than a person who truly understands bc has been where they are. I wouldn’t be where I am today without those who have been my advocates in times when I was too sick to be my own.
For 6 years I was on IV nutrition over 12 hours daily due to malabsorption. I did my own set up, cleaning, care, & starting of the IV nutrition & am well versed in home feeding pumps. I will make sure they take medication, eat, will drive to/from appts if needed, read books, watch movies, even if they just need someone to be with so that they are not alone.
I am a fast learner and very strong (physically and mentally) and am a calm/quick responder in any situation.
*I am CPR/Heimlich/First Aid certified & am typically available if you’re in a bind.
