On May 5th of 2018, I was granted the privilege to graduate with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology cum laude from SUNY Polytechnic Institute. I am now in the process of applying for physician assistant (PA) school where i am working on obtaining my Master's degree and becoming a board certified physician assistant in the state of New York.

Last July, I started my healthcare work journey with Gan Kavod/Sitrin where I worked as a Residence Counselor (RC) and volunteered with Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps (COCVAC) as an ambulance driver because I knew I wanted to work in the medical field and wanted to gain clinical experience.

As a biology student with a pre-medicine concentration, I was curious about the field of medicine and was ecstatic to work with patients with wide array of health concerns that were in need of my assistance. My job as a RC entails working with the geriatric population with disabilities including patients mental retardation and dementia and I was accountable for providing quality daily physical and emotional support. After a few months of work at Gan Kavod, I was granted the opportunity to become AMAP certified where I was responsible for administering daily and emergency medications and in charge of assessing and treating any and all health related concerns.

While I was going to school for biology and working, I wanted to further my education so I also became a certified emergency medical technician (EMT) where I was trained to assess, stabilize, and treat my patients under emergency conditions.

Although I am skillfully trained in assessing and treating wide array of medical concerns, one aspect of my job that I take the most pride in is being a companion. My experience working as a residence counselor and EMT has taught me how to listen attentively, how to be more patient, how to truly emphasize and show earnest care. Over the past year, my patients have helped me to become truly inspired to reach for greatness, to build enduring rapport, and to develop incredible friendships.
