My mother has worked her entire career as a geriatric nurse. When I was a young child I loved going to work with her, visiting with the residents and simply spending time with them to help brighten their day. As I grew older I continued to volunteer in nursing homes and provide companionship. I also helped run activities in the nursing home, feed patients that needed assistance, and provided minimal assistance with daily activities.

As an adult I have taken care of my grandmother after she broke her leg. I have experience with basic first aid and wound care such as keeping wounds clean and placing compression wraps. I am comfortable providing companionship, light housework, and food preparation.

I have nearly four years of paid experience working with children and I am able to apply many of the same skills utilized in childcare to companion care. Patience and compassion are necessary when helping to are for people of all ages and both are qualities that I possess. I do have my own car and I am willing and able to provide transportation for errands, and even medical appointments.
