I was able to retire early as an Occupational Therapist. I loved my job working for over 20 years in nursing homes with a Dementia Unit, assisted living, and Independent Living. I have also worked in hospitals, home health, group homes, outpatient, workshops and schools. I have always received glowing assessments and recommendations as a caring, kind, patient, encouraging therapist on my jobs. As a home health therapist, I have supervised or assisted, educated or helped as needed, grooming, bathing, dressing, meal prep, house cleaning, etc. Keeping them cognitively active is also very important so I like to play cards, do puzzles, simple games, reminiscing, current events and daily orientation
As well as supervised baking, dishes, making up beds, laundry, etc.
