My name is Sheila Cash. I am 55 years old. I have been married for 25 years and have two beautiful kids ages 26 and 22. I am now an empty nester. I actually stopped working when I had my first baby in 2000 and really haven’t re-entered into the workforce since then.
I started working at a nursing home when I was 16 years old I did that for approximately 4 years and then went into home healthcare as a CNA. I also have experience working as an activities director in nursing homes. I love doing hair and makeup and painting nails.Over the years, I have occasionally been a companion and a nurses aid just on my own helping families with their elderly or mentally disabled family members. I have experience working with Alzheimer’s patients , as well as little children with autism. Those are my favorite categories-the elderly & children. I have worked with people of all ages who are mentally disabled. I have a special place in my heart just for them. I have experience working with kids ages newborn-18. I worked for 3 years at a children’s home in NC. Those kids were deeply troubled but it was by far one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had.
I have an excellent driving record and am a very safe driver as well. Unfortunately, I am not CPR certified or first aid certified right now, but I’m willing to take the classes over and renew my certifications if need be.
I have worked for hospitals. I have worked for home health agencies , I have done private care, and I have worked with MRDD patients. I am an excellent cook. I’m very good at cleaning but what I love the most is the one on one time and getting to know my patient and getting to know their life stories. I absolutely love being a caregiver. I love animals as well so if a patient has pets that doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
I was a stay at home mom for 20 years and was very blessed to be able to do that.
I would love to get back into the work that I used to do because helping others is a passion of mine.
I have no idea what the going rates are to charge so I just tried to guesstimate when I filled that part of the application but am flexible.
I have a reliable vehicle to drive to work as well as transporting patients for whatever their needs may be.
