I have many experiences working with all types of people in different settings. I started out as a caregiver in a assisted living facility where I worked with patients with alzheimers and patients who just wanted to live their life as independent as possible. I then became a Certified STNA where I then worked in a nursing home/rehabilitation center. I then became aquited with patients who had just had surgery and needed that help to that indepence they were used too. I then found myself at a company working with adults with developmental disabilities and fell in love with the people I cared for and all of their different characteristics that came with them. I had gave birth to a child of my own by then so I was well aquited with taking care of lots of different souls. I became a stay at home mom of almost 4 years until I had my 2nd child. Then due to uncertain circumstances, my husband lost his job leaving me to start looking for a job and I fell into one that lead me to start caring for children with developmental disabilities, mostly diagnosed with autism. My whole world changed for the better and I became a better person by working with these children of all sorts of characteristics and having them show me what it's like to be different in such a good way! I worked for this company for almost 3 years and then I had to make the desicion to leave becuase this company unfortunately didnt re contract with the school I was at. So, as of now i am still working with kids with developmental disabilities and I'm loving it but I'm looking to slow down and start babysitting outside of my company and looking to babysit full time for someone else who may need it on a consistant basis.
