Hey! My name is Lea, and I'm a 20 year old pre-medical student with a BLS certificate and a great love for children and the elderly! I currently work at Cleveland Clinic as a caregiver, and have had several months experience of work in a hospital setting, as well as around five years of paid experience taking care of children. Having younger siblings growing up- and being the eldest- came with a lot of responsibility from a young age, and I loved how it felt to be able to nurture young minds and plan activities for them. This encouraged me to take on other families' kids, but I always prioritized treating them as if they were my younger siblings, with the same kind of compassion and love. I realized then that I was very passionate about helping others and being there for them, and since I also come from a culture where our elders are a central part of our lives, I decided to look into caregiving! Caregiving for elderly individuals- specifically those with dementia- requires lots of patience and a great deal of empathy, but with the experience I’ve had I’ve realized that I can break through to many and that it feels lovely to be able to do so. I'm confident that my skills and experience would make for a great fit- but I'd love to hear more from your end!
