Julia’s Bio
At the age of 19 I took a CNA course at a nursing home in Virginia. I passed at the very top of my class. I spent about 5 months working as a CNA there until I hurt my back catching a falling patient. They tell you over and over that if someone is falling, to let them fall, so as not to get hurt. I was unable to follow that order. When I saw that poor elderly woman start to fall over, my instinct was to help, and all I could do was run over and catch her. After this incident I stopped working there to get my back better (which it is better now). I feel that even in those few short months, I learned so much. The experience I had there is what made my passion for helping and taking care of PEOPLE (rather than just animals) grow enormously. I have retained the information I learned and used it in life experiences to help care for elderly friends and family over the years. I am so grateful to have had that experience and I hope that I can keep growing in this passion of mine by getting to meet and help more people through this site.
