Madeline’s Bio
My name is Madeline Bell, and I am currently in my second year of law school at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, OR. I am friendly, clean, organized, well-educated, and reliable.
Animals
I love all animals and grew up with domesticated ducks, dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, and a chinchilla. I have been volunteering at the humane society since I was 18yrs old and have no problem caring for pets. I have taken many pet training classes and am currently studying animal law at Lewis & Clark. I took several animal behavior courses in college and in my spare time.
Many pets of the elderly do not get the exercise they need. I am a half-marathon runner and can promise to exercise your dog(s) with walks or runs.
I have one 35 pound dog who is certified as a service animal for the elderly. Upon request, I will bring her with me free of charge.
Special Needs
I am extremely patient and gentle-hearted. I have experience working with both children and adults with various physical and mental limitations. Some of my direct work includes many years: teaching autistic children gymnastics, working at local special Olympics, caring for those with MS and cerebral palsy, and volunteering my time to the elderly suffering from Alzheimer's and dementia. For two years, I cared for my elderly grandparents after they suffered severe mental and physical health complications. I did everything from feeding them to making sure they took their medications, and everything in between.
I truly believe in the power of touch. Many elderly and disabled are ignored and forgotten in today's society. Many simply want someone to spend quality time with them. The sick and elderly need human contact as much as newborn babies (& we could all benefit from more). I promise to spend quality time with you or your loved one. I have various games to bring along with me (including bingo, cards, chess & more!) and am willing to purchase specific games desired for long-term clients.
It is difficult, mentally and physically exhausting, and expensive to take care of one's parents. Let me help you. I have done it before, and I truly love to do it.
I know CPR through my Criminal Justice degree experiences and plan on taking a course to become "officially" certified.
All my prices are negotiable and I provide discounts for long-term clients. I will always provide friendly, quality supervision and personalized care.
