Jamie’s Bio
I became a personal caregiver after working with my family to help take care of my grandfather until he passed. I have been caregiving since 2011. I enjoy the one on one with my clients. Getting to know them and to be able to help someone in need is a great feeling for both parties. I choose to do this privately because after time spent working for agencies there were too many restrictions in which I could not help my client in time of need. I do not have any certifications but I do have experience in this field with individuals with many different needs. Diabetes, cancer, dimensia, blindness, recovery, etc. Duties including cooking, errands, doctor appointments, light house keeping, bills, physical therapy, exercise, medicine, companionship, games, crafts, wheelchairs, travel and more. I have learned that not everyone had a physical disability but people are also in need of emotional support, someone to laugh and share things with or just someone to listen or be near to feel safe. To me this is all important in caregiving. I also consider myself patient. I have learned that is one of the most important things in my line of work due to problems and lack of capabilities in which each individual is having. You must have patience with your client as they are taking on a new part of their life and making changes they are not used to as well. Losing any kind of independence is a very hard for anyone. I love what I do and I hope you will consider me for this position.
