I really enjoy helping others! I have many hours of volunteer experience in the human service field. Recently, I have worked along side adults with intellectual disabilities/elderly assisting at my local nursing home in Milford, PA. At the nursing home I helped coordinate activities for the patients to participate in. I also participated myself in all of the activities. During my time here, I also visited patients individually in their independent rooms to keep them company and spend direct time with them. Aside from the nursing home, I also assisted adults with intellectual disabilities in a soup kitchen, preparing meals for the public. Further more, I have spent a few hours assisting at GAIT which is a therapeutic riding center for children/adults with disabilities ranging from physical, emotional to intellectual disabilities. I assisted as a "side walker" walking on the side of the horse to enable them as a rider. I endured great personal interaction during this time!
From all of these experiences, I have learned more about myself, that I truly have a passion for helping others in need. I thrive off being able to make a difference in someone else s life.
