Having worked in the field of Social Work with a concentration in Gerontology I have always connected well with seniors. My greatest experience however has come from the personal care I have provided for my elderly parents. While having assisted them in navigating the progressive challenges they've faced including medication management, activities of daily living, decreased mobility and household maintenance I am very familiar with the deficits older individuals are often faced with.

My experience extends to other private home care positions with older adults who I have provided care and companionship for over the past 5 years. Some of the greatest lessons I have learned is my understanding of the emotional/social connections needed for an individual to function best as well as the respect owed to them as they juggle the aging process.
