Marisa’s Bio
Hi! My name is Marisa & I am 25 years old. I took care of my extremly ill grandmother for 8 years. My grandmothers health started to decline around 2006, slowly she stopped being able to do daily activities, by 2008, she was not able to go to the bathroom or shower without help, so I had to stop working to care for her 24/7, with my mom coming to help when I had to go to school. By 2009 I was struggling financially but could not leave the house to make money, so my grandmother's nurse told me about getting paid through her medical to help her. I applied and was accepted, so I could continue to take care of her without the added worries about money. I would cook meals, do laundry, administer medication, cleaned the house, help her shower, helped her to use the bathroom, took her to doctors appointments, paid bills and took care of her finances. She passed away in 2012 and I moved up to Gouldsboro, Pa to live with my other grandparents to help them. My grandparents are 73 & 75 so they are not able to do all the things they used to be able to, so I help out by taking NY grandmom to doctors appontments (she can't drive), help with cleaning, assist in everyday duties. I also help a friend of my grandmothers who has no family to help her, she lives in Scranton in an assisted living apartment. I help her with cleaning, take her grocery shopping, clip her toe nails & any other things she need help with. I am also an animal lover (I am currently pursuing a certificate as a vetrinary assistant and have college credits toward becoming g a vetranarian, but because of my grandmothers illness ,I had to put my education on hold). I have a car & am licensed & ensured. I am willing to travel a reasonable distance for work & will help with household duties (cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc) will drive to doctors appointments, run errands etc. I am currently not working so I am available 24/7 and will work any hours needed.
