I worked at Hershey Medical Center for almost ten years as a patient safety companion. In that role, I engaged with my patients by whatever means they were willing, ensuring that they did not feel “babysat” while making sure they did not pull out IV lines, oxygen, etc.
In many cases, we would just talk. Allowing them to vent their frustrations was helpful in keeping them calm and their vital signs within range.
Sometimes, I would sing them to sleep, play cards, or even just hold their hand.

Susi is very easy to talk to and get along with! She showed up on time in the mornings and was flexible with her schedule, and respectful to cultural differences. She was very comfortable working with my twin newborns and also comfortable with animals. Definitely a keeper?.
Susi was fantastic with my son River who I would consider a challenging toddler at times. He was completely comfortable with her and she attended to all of his needs perfectly! I am so happy to have found such a wonderful sitter!
