Aloha, My name is Edwina, I started baby sitting at a very young age, due to the fact that I grew up watching my younger cousins and then as I got older watching the neighbors kids. For the past 6 years I have coached soccer for kids ages 8-12 and have loved every second of it. I moved to PA in the fall of 2017 from Hawaii where I worked as a medical assistant in a pediatric cardiology office which means I have my Basic Life Support Certification. From 2017-2019 I worked as an MA for UPMC at Children's Community Pediatrics so I have extensive background in caring for kids not only as a sitter but also as a medical professional. In the summer of 2019 I started working as a full time nanny for a family with 2 children ages 3 and 7. In 2021 I got accepted into medical school and therefore said goodbye to my nanny family and started school. I just finished my first year and my mom has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, because of this I need to take a leave of absence from school for a year in order to be able to afford and care for my mother. That being said my availability will be limited to a one year commitment. But for the past 6 months I've been the sole care taker for my mother post op on her proximal femur replacement surgery and patient advocate for her metastatic breast cancer. I have extensive knowledge in pharmacology and overall health care knowledge. I truly understand the value in patience and kindness when dealing with the geriatric population, and want nothing more than to help those in the population who need it most.
