Jenni D. Care Companion in Des Moines, IA 50315

I have been a live-in caregiver to an elderly woman in her mid-80's for 3 years now. It started as a part-time job to come into the home and help out just a few days a week, but soon turned into a full-time job as she eventually needed more personal care. I was not initially looking for work as a caregiver as I was studying to become a social worker, but being a caregiver has become my life!
I have been trained by her daughter who is a nurse, in the area of diabetic care, as well as dementia care. My role is to assist her with getting out of bed each morning, dressing her, restroom assistance, general hygiene, feeding, and administering insulin and checking blood sugar.
I am looking to become a care companion again as my client has to be moved into a nursing home due to decreased mobility. I currently live in Iowa and am open to moving out of the state. I do have an associates degree in liberal arts, and have approximately one year left to complete my bachelors degree in human services.
