Hi, name is Tuny Zonana and I’m a nursing student at the University of Pittsburgh. I first became a care companion when my grandmother had a stroke, but then decided to continue doing it when other family members started needing more help at home. Being a care companion has been very rewarding for me. It has contributed to my education as a nursing student, and makes it it possible for me to do something I enjoy despite being a full-time student.
I’ve had a lot of experience volunteering in nursing homes, working with older family members suffering from memory loss, and have also had years of experience in child care. I’m also bilingual , and can communicate fluently in both Spanish and English if necessary. I also have my CPR certification, and all my clearances .
