It gives me great pleasure to offer my highest recommendation for Susan Marszalek, whom I have had the pleasure of knowing for the past nine years.

I first met Susan when she took the job of Primary Caregiver and House Manager for my very ill mother, who suffers from a rare neurological disease known as Multiple System Atrophy. The disease is progressive, degenerative and extremely debilitating, requiring an incredible amount of knowledge, patience, resourcefulness, love and compassion, and both physical and mental strength—all skills that Susan embodies and exemplifies in every single thing she does.

Not only was the quality of the care my mother received from Susan exceptional, but she also established a wonderful relationship with her that far exceeded all expectations. My mother flourished under Susan’s care, receiving not only all of the physical support she needed for her ailing body, but the emotional and social components as well. Susan treated my mother as she would a close friend, working tirelessly to ensure my mother maintained her dignity amidst a very bleak diagnosis. Each day with Susan was a new adventure, where Susan showed she was more than willing to go above and beyond the basic responsibilities of her position.

Susan has an impressive ability to maintain a positive demeanor each and every day, with a smile and an optimistic persona that is contagious to all those around her. There were days when my mother couldn’t get out of bed from her pain, and Susan always managed to have my mother in the best of spirits regardless. Susan always made it a priority to make sure my mother was getting the most pleasure out of life by encouraging her to travel, get involved in activities and forge new relationships as well as cultivate old ones.
