I had a child who survived cancer at the age of six. After that experience I felt I needed to pay it forward and gave my time on a volunteer basis to support and be with someone I knew going through an illness. I cared for a niece, sister-in -law and close friend and step- mom over the last 15 years. My career is in business so I am somewhat job driven . When people ask me why I am so good at taking care of people I tell them its basically getting the job done , seeing what they need , quiet time , conversation, food, drinks , medicines or housework but adding care and compassion to the service.
I have recently left my full-time career and what to work part-time. Instead of falling back into business I want to do something more rewarding and meaningful. When I look back to the time I spent caring for someone I know thats what I want to do.
