I became a caregiver after taking care of my grandfather who took ill. My mother and I moved him into our home once we realized that he could not care for himself any longer. I worked in the day time and my mother worked at night so there would always be someone there to cater to his needs. After taking care of him for a little over a year before he passed away, I knew that being a caregiver was my calling. I really enjoy helping and caring for people and each time I put a smile on someone's face that is incapable of caring for themselves, I feel that I have made some kind of difference and put someone's mind at ease of one less worry.
