Reference 1. Illness- Dementia and Congestive Heart failure
I lived in the home of a husband who had Dementia, and his wife who had Congestive Heart Failure. She was on oxygen 24 hours per day, so I had to keep various size tanks of oxygen stocked, and I changed her cannula as needed. I also took them to doctors appointments and was expected to discern medical emergencies. I chauffeured them to play Bridge, to visit relatives, and to eat out. I did the laundry, cooked meals, cleaned the house, and I took the woman to get her hair washed and set each Friday. My most important task was to keep the refrigerator stocked with Bryers Ice Cream, to watch Jeopardy and The Price Is Right, and to keep a supply of fresh baked pastries in the home.

Reference 2. Illness- Terminally Ill patient with a brain tumor.
I assisted my client's sister with showering and grooming her once per week, and on the other days, I helped her sponge bath. I did transfers, and I either assisted her with feeding, or I fed her. I washed her clothing, cleaned the home, did the kids laundry, and helped cook meals.

Reference 3. Illness- The client was paralyzed from her neck to her feet.
I provided care for a woman who had been in a car accident and was totally paralyzed from her neck down. She had to be fed, bathed, turned periodically, I emptied her cathedra,tended her bed sores, and transferred from her bed to a wheelchair, and back to her bed. I took her to church, the park, the library, and shopping. I shopped for groceries, drove her to doctor's appointments and helped to keep the house clean.

Reference 4. Illness- I provided care for a man who was paralyzed and terminally ill.

I lived in with him and his sons family. I tube fed him, washed and ironed his clothing, bathed him and I changed his depends. I took him for walks in the neighborhood, dressed him for prayer. and took him to the Temple on Saturday Mornings. He was an Orthodox Jew and the home was Kosher.
