Macie E. Care Companion in Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Hi! My name is Macie and I am currently living in Sioux Falls, SD and working as a Patient Care Tech/Health Unit Coordinator on the CardioPulmonary floor at Avera! I have been working here for two years, prior to my time here I worked for Sanford Health for 4 years as both a Room Service Ambassador and Nursing’ Assistant. Prior to that I worked at a nursing home for a year. My overall experience adds up to 5 years in the healthcare field and taking care of patients. Originally my plan was to graduate high school to pursue a career in media/journalism. Unfortunately my mom got ill when I graduated and had to go straight into the work force, where I found a passion I had no idea existed! I found I was able to help people directly with providing them care and comfort instead of “getting the word out” on TV. Working hands on with individuals who need assistance, care, and compassion during a tough time. I’ve always enjoyed helping others, and have found myself exactly where I am needed. With my mom becoming sick, it provided the motivation to make a difference in someone else’s life. I enjoy working with with the elderly and have a huge love for kids! Both age groups share such a fun zest and wonder for life, leaving those they come in contact with a breath of fresh air, it helps fuel the passion to see them to continue to see life as we all should: the glass being half full instead of empty!!
