Mariah’s Bio
1. Why do you love being a caregiver?
Growing up, I was always drawn to caring for others, especially the elderly. I was raised around my grandparents, and they played a big role in shaping who I am today. They taught me patience, compassion, and the importance of truly listening to others. That experience made me realize how meaningful it is to be there for people who need support. When I went on to college, I became a CNA and spent several years in the field. I absolutely loved it—it felt like more than just a job. Being a caregiver allows me to make a real difference in someone’s life every day, and that’s something I find incredibly fulfilling.
2. What experience do you have?
I have over 5 years of experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). During that time, I worked in a variety of settings including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and private homes. I provided daily care such as bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility assistance, and medication reminders. I also developed strong relationships with my clients and their families, which helped me deliver personalized and compassionate care. I’ve worked with individuals dealing with dementia, Alzheimer’s, mobility challenges, and post-surgery recovery.
3. What skills and training do you have?
As a CNA for over five years, I developed a wide range of skills including personal care assistance, vital sign monitoring, mobility and transfer techniques, and infection control. I am trained in CPR and first aid, and I stay up-to-date with continuing education in elder care and patient safety. I’ve also built strong communication skills—both with patients and their families—as well as the ability to stay calm under pressure. My background has taught me how to be dependable, empathetic, and detail-oriented in everything I do.
