I have worked with children and adults with developmental delays in various capacities for most of my adult life. Personally - I cared for both my parents for several years, and we had a foster son for 18 years who was diagnosed with severe mental retardation and autism. In recent years I have worked as a nanny for young children. I am at the stage in my life where I would enjoy using my love and compassion for senior citizens (possibly because I am considered one myself! ) offering assistance and companionship to elderly and/or disabled adults. I can work flexible hours and days. My interests/hobbies include playing piano, Southern Gospel music, reading, fishing, and travel.
