Hi,
I became a caregiver for two of my best friends who had terminal illnesses over a period of six years of care. Both suffered Stage 4 lung cancer. One of them I moved her into my home with me. I cooked, cleaned, shopped, walked the dog and met all needs that the clients needed or wanted. I took them to their doctor's appointments and assisted with their medications. We did fun things to pass the time and enjoy life. Sometimes we would go for rides to spot wild flowers just to them out in the open country air. I assisted them with their final arrangements. I gave to them what I would need/want as if it were me. I have worked in medical clinic settings for over a decade, most recently in mental health. I enjoy building relationships with people I interact with on a regular basis. Relationships are a lifetime and quite important to me.

I am a young grandmother and care for my grandchildren whenever I can. Two boys, ages are 7 years and 10 months old. This week my 7 year old came over Thursday to get ready for the camping season. So Dad, Grandpa and 7 year Anthony put up the tent, got the sleeping bags, gathered firewood, roasted hotdogs and Smores, then spent the night in the tent in our backyard for a trial run! They had a blast and Anthony thinks he's ready!
I also raised two step children when their mother abandoned them, ages 7 and 9 through their teenage years. I provided all motherly care for many years and enjoyed it immensely. I am also the eldest of nine siblings, so I had a great deal experience as I was growing up as my usually worked two jobs.
I have my own transportation. I am a pet owner and are quite comfortable with other's pets- large or small.
Certifications completed include: CPR through the American Red Cross, Emergency Medical Technician though General Motors, Acupuncture through post graduate studies and XRay Technician at Indiana University. I worked volunteered with the local Emergency Ambulance Services when I lived in Indiana prior to moving to Austin in 1984. I have lived my home on Mosswood Circle for 19 years.
