I have extensive experience with Special Needs and Seniors (since 1987.) Certified as a CNA with The State of Michigan in 1990 & worked in a group home with 6 Special Needs Seniors for 5 years. My journey then took me to begin working for The Thumb Cares Agency as a Live-In Caregiver. In my 10 years with this agency I went through monthly trainings & Suminars being educated how to become An Experienced Caregiver. Responsibilities being Writing Patients Plan of Care, Monitoring and Distribution of Medications, Assessment of Medical & Basic Needs, Home Care & Menu needs, Specializing in Mobility, Transfers, Communication & Monitoring Performance.
In 1997 I moved to Texas and started working with clients at a Assisted Living facility. I was responsible for preparing meals, ADLS, (personal care), Running errands, Performing light housekeeping, Med Pass, Companionship, Encourage Daily Health & amp; Wellness, Social programs, Bathing, Eating, Bathroom facilities, Dressing, Walking and ROM. I am now a Certified Activity Director & love spending time with Seniors.
