As a nursing student (currently not enrolled), with over 110 credit hours so far, i'm able to:
Provide medication under minimal supervision to specific patients, and perform subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
Evaluate and manage emergency pediatric GI conditions including appendicitis, intussusception, volvulus, necrotizing enterocolitis and GI hemorrhage. Evaluate a patient with diarrhea, assess hydration status and assess the appropriate treatments.
Perform basic hearing, vision, speech and developmental screening during a pediatric exam and interpret the results.
Treat anxiety in older adults, negativism, independence issues, toilet training, and cognitive-related tantrums
Recognize and discuss failure to thrive, evaluate possible causes, and provide support to ongoing treatment.
Help to identify the etiology, presentation, testing and treatment of certain conditions, including food allergy, respiratory allergies and urticaria.
