Julie had a very good phone interview, during which we discussed in detail the time requirements for the job for which she had applied. In fact, I specifically asked her how was it possible that she applied for my job when she has a young daughter. She told me that was not a problem and assured me she would be available to work the time I needed. So, we scheduled an in-person interview. The day of the interview I called and texted her to make sure that she would be coming since it was a Saturday night and we didn't want the whole family spending the evening waiting for her if she wasn't coming. She texted me back saying she had decided she didn't want the job because she wanted to spend the time with her daughter. She was about to leave a family of 5 waiting for her at home on a Saturday night - Didn't have the decency to cancel! When I called her to say what she'd done was inappropriate, she interrupted me, told me she was glad she didn't take the job (which I hadn't offered yet - that was the purpose of the interview), and then she hug up on me!! You may have a different experience, but I would like to know this prior to relying on someone like this to take care of my children.
