I am a public school teacher who has spent my 23 year career working in upper elementary and middle school. I have learned the incredible satisfaction of developing and nurturing genuine relationships with children and people in general. I say this is "learned" because understanding what others need academically, socially, and emotionally and learning to recognize and respond appropriately to cues is not always intuitive. I have raised four children of my own and had the honor of end-of-life care for both my mother and aunt. I understand the challenges that come with a dementia diagnosis and the sense of loss families feel as loved ones need ever-increasing care. I also know, first-hand, the pressing feeling a fmaily member feels when they want to ensure their loved one is safe and cared for but must maintain their work life. It takes someone with my skills to fill that type need and I'm looking forward to providing some relief for those who are attempting to provide the best environment for an aging parent or beloved family member.
