I have 2 years experience as an activities assistant at a memory care facility. Most of the work includes that of a care giver. It is required and very important that you know how to assist residents of all levels (low functioning-high functioning) whether it is changing a resident, assisting in the restroom, giving a resident a shower, prepping meals, feeding a resident, or of course doing engaging activities them. I was not certified but in my two years have learned a lot and have grown to love this area of work. I grew a special relationship with the residents I worked with every day and they hold a special place in my heart. It is a very honoring job and an experience Im glad I had, and would be honored to work in this field again.
