My Caregiving Experience: 21 Years of Dedication
My caregiving journey began over 21 years ago, when I took my first job at a local nursing facility. I was young, inexperienced, and unsure of what the future held. But from the very first day, I knew I had found my purpose. I saw the difference my presence could make —

Private Homes: Providing one-on-one care to elderly and disabled clients, often supporting them with personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and companionship.

Hospice Care: Offering comfort, dignity, and emotional support to individuals and their families during end-of-life care.

Memory Care Units: Supporting patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia, focusing on routines, safety, communication strategies, and mental engagement.

Rehabilitation Centers: Assisting patients during their recovery process after surgery, illness, or injury.

Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals facing a wide range of conditions — from Parkinson’s disease and diabetes to stroke recovery, cancer, and mobility impairments. Each case has required unique knowledge, patience, and adaptability. And with each case, I’ve grown more confident in my abilities and more passionate about the value of caregiving.

Training and Certifications
Alongside my practical experience, I have consistently pursued training to improve my skills and stay current with best practices in caregiving. My certifications and training include:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA): This certification gave me a strong foundation in basic nursing skills, personal care, infection control, and patient safety.

CPR and First Aid Certification: I am trained in emergency response, including how to perform CPR, assist with choking, and administer first aid.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care Training: I’ve completed specialized programs that focus on understanding the behaviors, communication challenges, and needs of clients with memory loss.
