I became a caregiver about 20 or 30 years ago. I begin working for an old man that had lost his wife to cancer and needed someone to clean, wash and cook for him and I took care of him for 12 years until he passed away of stomach cancer in 1991. It is a blessing to be able to take care and help the elderly and disabled. Most of the time they only want companionship and I enjoy hearing their stories.
